The rock opera “Nicky and Alix” is a dedication to amazing sincere love of Russian Emperor Nicholas II and his wife, the Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna Romanova. They managed to carry it with them for the rest of their eventful lives. Their closest associates would betray them. Their former loyal subjects would humiliate them and demand their execution. They called each other Nicky and Alix.
The musical idea was born in 2009. The Opera consists of 3 acts: « OMENS», «RASPUTIN" and "CONSPIRACY". The MUSIC webpage contains few aria DEMOS. At present the most active work is focused on Act 1 and Act 2, libretto, and website pages.
The musical uses the lyrics of the poets-contemporaries of the happening events: Maximilian Voloshin ("I’ll Be a Lampion Tonight ", "Your Love is Yearning", "Omens"), Valery Bryusov ("I Love You and the Sky "), Constantine Balmont ("Love You", "There’s Not a Day", "You’re Here", "I Am the Cry of Pain", "Our Tsar"), Ivan Bunin ("I Take Your Hand"), Sergey Bekhteyev ("God Save the Tsar", "The Prayer", "I Do Believe"), Vladimir Mayakovsky ("To Account", "The Left March"), Nikolay Gumilyov ("Our Proud Capital "), Boris Savenkov ("I w Was Walking "), the poem of the contemporary Moscow poet, Alexander Pitirimov, “Khodynka”, other authors’ lyrics.
I do believe - the day will come,
When bloody times are put to end,
We’ll see the law of mob is gone
Away from my long-suffering land.
I do believe – the time is close,
When cunningly defrauded folk
Will shake the burden so morose
Of troubles and misfortunes yoke
I do believe – the Holy Rus,
Like phoenix from the ash will rise
And life bygone well-cleaned from ruth
Will resurrect before our eyes.
